Pictures (7/30/04)
I made a small page with a few of my pictures from the con. There would be more personal ones, but I really have something against taking pictures of people like some damned tourist.

Exactly (7/30/04)
Well I'm finally back from my eight-stop, 4400 mile road trip down and back up the entire west coast of the United States. I could talk about how sitting driving alone for that long was, or about what I did, but no one who will be reading this will care at all.
After checking up on the site while I was in Santa Barbara and seeing the most recent developments upon my return, I decided to revoke Michael's independent posting privileges henceforth and all material will now be directed through the quality control office, aka right here.
The one thing of interest I did do was attend the opening day of the San Diego Comic-Con, as Michael has so kindly commented on in his last few posts. I had a pretty good idea of what to expect, but this being my first Con, had no idea of the size. The San Diego Convention Center is huge. It took me about 10 minutes to walk to the front entrance from parking on the side. They filled the place up. Wall to wall, end to end, solid comicness. I heard they expected 70,000 people to attend, but I suspect they actually got more. Everyone from the comic world was there, obviously, and I spent most of my time just walking and looking... both at the people and the content. Quite the crowd, I must say. The only booth I spent even a remote amount of time at was that of the esteemed Penny Arcade. I of course had to support them by spending $60 dollars on posters (which Gabe so graciously drew upon) and shirts for me and Michael.
Anyways, it's late, and I don't want to do any more of this. I'll put up some pictures or something tomorrow. Oh, and since I'm back, a new comic will be in production. Yeeeeeha.

Having Way More Fun (7/22/04)
While Ryan may be, at the very moment I’m writing this, at the San Diego Comic-Con, let me assure you that whatever banal enjoyment he may be experiencing there, cannot compare to the absolute mirth I am enduring while updating this site. That aside, he will be back in a few more days with plenty of stuff to talk about, but until then I felt I should post something in the meantime.
Ryan’s absence reminded me of a time last year when Tycho left Gabe to go on a European vacation. Now, as you may have noticed, the friendship that Ryan and I share with each other could at times be described as hostile, and it was interesting to compare. While Tycho was gone, Gabe made this, whereas while Ryan has been gone, and myself still out of immediate physical confrontation, I have created this. I hope you may find this enlightening in some way.

AM THE BIGGEST TOOL IN THE UNIVERSE AND I SUCK AT POSTING AND AT LIFE AND I DESERVE THIS (every day, all the time):

I Hope I Do This Right (7/15/04)
Normally Ryan does the actual updating, with me just writing the post. He’s very protective of the site, hostile to anything appearing dangerous to its safe continuance. That said, I think I should be able to pull this off.
With Ryan gone for the next two weeks, I can do just about anything I want, without any immediate repercussions. For example, I can post shit like this without being smaked upside the head:

I suppose somewhere in his travels he may find the desire and access to tools which would allow him to respond, but for now, bask in his glory.
In other, more productive news, I have updated the Art Page with a few things that I worked on in my digital drawing class from the first semester of last year.
As for our next comic, hopefully we will be able to get on it as soon as he gets back.

California Here I Come (7/12/04)
Well tomorrow I take off bright and early on a road trip that will take me through Washington, Oregon, and California. I therefore won't be providing you all with any breathtaking updates and witty banter until I return later this month. I am going to try to visit the San Diego Comic Con, which should obviously be pretty sweet.
So I say farewell, and good luck in gettin updates out of my comatose comrade.

Total Fucking Awesomeness (7/9/04)
Ahh, a new comic in record time. This is also the first that I’ve been able to do using my tablet, and overall I think it looks pretty good. As a bit of explanation, we have both found it amusing that some people would ‘trick’ out their computers with the likes of glowing lights and clear cases. Not only have we seen it amongst our friends, but even the guys at Penny Arcade seem to have done some.
In any case, we were curious what the future held for such enhancements, and thus the comic was born. The conversation we’re having is also the summarization of a real discussion we had shortly before making the comic which we thought fit well.
